Meeting Topic: Video – “Circular Reasoning in Dating Methods” talk by Dr. Andrew Snelling from Answers in Genesis (AiG)

Synopsis: “Trees grow annual rings; and in lakes thin sediment layers called varves are deposited. Like radiocarbon, these are used as dating methods. It is claimed these methods agree with one another. But closer examination renders them questionable at best. The key to their misuse is circular reasoning, which only proves what is assumed to begin with. For instance, radiocarbon is calibrated against tree rings, but then the tree-ring master chronology is calibrated using radiocarbon. And varves are counted at one per year, but then the counts are corrected using the radiocarbon in organic debris found in the varves themselves. Thus there is no objective dating standard for these three methods. Instead, this forced agreement renders these dating methods totally unreliable. They cannot be used to discredit the Bible’s timescale for earth’s history.” (AiG)

Meeting Topic: A talk on “Amber and the Genesis Flood” by Dr. Joseph Kezele with the Arizona Origin Science Association (AzOSA)

Synopsis: “This presents the source of amber and types of amber specimens that defy the usual secular explanation for the existence of amber. Then it demonstrates the necessity of the Genesis flood to explain what we see around the world. It concludes with some fascinating history about amber involving Russia and Germany over three centuries.” (AzOSA)

Speaker Biography:

“Joseph Kezele studied the sciences and music at the University of Arizona, while earning his B.A. in Russian in 1971, and his M.D. in 1975. He then completed a Pediatric Residency and practiced Emergency Medicine for 25 years in the Phoenix area and was a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is now retired from the practice of medicine, served as President of AzOSA for 19 years, and now serves on the Board of AzOSA and as a consultant and mentor. He is an Associate Professor of Biology at Arizona Christian University in Glendale . . .

Dr. Kezele is also a Logos Research Associate, a Fellow of the Creation Research Society, and had the privilege of participating in a dinosaur dig in Montana and excavated a triceratops horn and the triceratops cervical condyle from which intact osteocytes in soft tissue were isolated . . .” (AzOSA)
