CSFNM’s Statement of Beliefs about Origins: These are the beliefs/truths/doctrines/science facts that we, the board of directors, hold to personally. These are the guiding principles by which we direct the operation, direction, and content of CSFNM’s speakers, resources, and meetings.
Our meetings and activities are open to anyone of any faith and persuasion; no attendee need adhere to any of these beliefs to be welcomed at our meetings. We do not question anyone regarding their beliefs except in the case of being considered for a position on the CSFNM Board.
Our Doctrinal Statement
- We believe the Bible is the Divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant word of the living, Triune God. It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
- We believe the account of origins presented in Genesis is a simple, but factual, presentation of actual events. Therefore, it provides a reliable framework for scientific research into the question of the origin and history of life.
- We believe in special creation rather than natural development from simple forms of life into more complex forms. We see Divine Design and purpose in nature, as opposed to an unorganized random chance process.
- We believe in a comparatively young earth, as opposed to an earth that is millions or billions of years old, and a Great Flood which formed all the rock layers and fossils.
- We believe the Christian Doctrines of Creator and Creation are an integral part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- We believe the Biblical account of Creation is literally true; it is the starting point for scientific investigation; it is supported by abundant evidence in the world around us; and it provides the foundational truths and basis for a proper relationship with the Creator God of the universe today.
