Meeting Topic: A talk by Marshall Jordan – “Can Radiocarbon Fit a Biblical Time Scale?”
“While radiocarbon dating can be accurate back to several thousand years before the present, the uniformitarian assumption that atmospheric C-14 does not change allows the method to be extended further back in time supporting the claim that Neanderthals lived in Europe over 40,000 years ago. This age is incompatible with the biblical timescale, which dates the Genesis Flood to about 4500 years ago. The solution to this problem is to recalibrate radiocarbon dating to a biblical timescale using ancient carbons of known age according to the record of Genesis. Coal, which contains C-14, is from plants buried by the Flood, and so it provides a basis for the recalibration of radiocarbon dating to a biblical timescale.”
